LAWS provides comprehensive services to children and youth whose lives have been affected by violence and abuse. Crisis intervention, support, and advocacy help to break the destructive generational cycle of family violence. Services available include:

  • Crisis intervention for children and youth.
  • Emergency housing for children accompanied by their mothers.
  • Counseling for children both in the community and in safe housing.
  • Daily age-appropriate activities for youth and children living in safe housing.
  • Peer Support Groups.
  • Parent-child supervised visitation services.
  • Counseling for parents to assist them in dealing with the effects of the violence upon their children.
  • Advocacy with agencies, schools, and the courts on behalf of child victims of violence.
  • Assistance with holiday and birthday gifts and clothing.
  • Recreational activities for all children served by LAWS
LAWS Youth and Children's Services also provides The Loudoun County Nurturing Program, an intensive 15-week program for parents and their children.
