Coronavirus Pandemic (COVID-19)
Dear Clients, Colleagues, and Friends,
We wanted to take a moment and connect with you directly as the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) continues to impact our communities. The well-being and safety of our clients and colleagues is our top priority and will always be at the heart of every decision we make.
We have made the very difficult decision to temporarily telework rather than provide in-person services at LAWS’ Community Services Center at least until Friday, April 3rd. We will re-assess the situation then to determine the plan for the next week.
We will continue to provide all services by phone and/or through a confidential website. These services include safety planning, advocacy, counseling, legal consults, legal intakes, etc.
We will continue to monitor protocols and guidelines set forth by the CDC and our local government agencies.
As the current situation evolves, we will be making proper adjustments. We will continue to assess the situation during the coming weeks, and will communicate any further decisions made. Please have clients call the hotline at 703-777-6552.
Thank you for your understanding and support.

The Resourceful Woman Thrift Store will be closed beginning Tuesday, 3/24 to protect the safety of our staff, volunteers and customers. Donations are no longer being accepted.
Safety. Hope. Empowerment.
The Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter ( or more commonly known as LAWS) provides free, confidential services to adults and children who are victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse. Our goals are:
- To empower, inform and advocate for adults and children
- To educate the community about domestic violence and sexual assault
- To work towards the elimination of personal and societal violence
