Loudoun Child Advocacy Center

The Loudoun Child Advocacy Center (CAC), a program of LAWS, is a public/private partnership among Loudoun County agencies and organizations dedicated to child victims of abuse and/or neglect.  It is the mission of the Loudoun CAC to support the continued development and implementation of a child-centered approach when investigating cases of child abuse and neglect.

The goals of the Loudoun CAC, which are similar to the national CAC model, include:

  • To provide a child-friendly, safe and neutral location in which law enforcement and child protective services may conduct child interviews;
  • To minimize the number of interviews the child is involved in by bringing all disciplines together and sharing information more efficiently;
  • To enhance communication and collaboration among all agencies involved;
  • To provide the child and non-offending family members referrals to other supportive services; and
  • To enhance the current system to enable an increase in the number of successful prosecutions of child physical and sexual abuse cases.

Teen Violence Prevention Program

Part of our mission at LAWS is to work towards the elimination and prevention of domestic and sexual violence in our community. The LAWS Teen Violence Prevention Program works directly with adolescents in Loudoun County to implement violence prevention programming. Program activities include educating teens about healthy relationships, dating violence warning signs, dynamics of domestic and sexual violence, and bystander awareness.

We use a variety of curriculum-based programs, presentations, and peer education activities to teach teens how to prevent domestic and sexual violence.  The Teen Violence Prevention Program collaborates with a number of community partners to provide our programming with youth in a variety of settings.

Some of our partners include:

  • Loudoun County Public Schools
  • Loudoun County Department of Family Services
  • Loudoun County Mental Health, Substance Abuse, & Developmental Services
  • Loudoun County Parks, Recreation, and Community Services
  • Local private schools and community groups.

If you have questions regarding our Teen Violence Prevention Program, please contact our Program Manager at 703-771-4265.
